marta: I came thiiiiiiiiis close to using another YouTube video of the song. Well, actually I considered two: one had this person dressed (for some reason) as Winnie the Pooh, wandering around places (particularly classrooms). I almost chose that because I thought it could be a dormouse before I realized it was W the P. But the other one I figured would REALLY be a little too freaky for you if you stopped by and saw it: a montage of scenes featuring Dr. Who #4 and Sarah.

I knew it! Here’s me jumping up and down. I saw that on the post and said, “But that is my favorite Andrew Bird song! How did he know? Wait a minute…”

And then I came to comment and ta-da! Wow. That’s great. Thanks for remembering that song.

Oh, and the other quotes were great too. I’m especially fond of the Charles Wright bit, and of those two, especially the A Short History of the Shadow. What great titles, too.

I first heard about "Measuring Cups" from frequent commenter Marta, in something she said here about a post back in October. It's a hard song to forget (and not in a can't-get-the-damned-thing-out-of-my-head way; I mean well-nigh unforgettable).
