No Wonder Johnny Grew Up So… Troubled

You may have imagined that until the Internet, parents didn’t need to worry that technology might endanger their children. If so, you were wrong.

Photo below the fold. Found it at the wonderful Found in Mom’s Basement site: “Vintage advertising — found in my mother’s basement, flea markets and various corners of the Internet — dusted off and displayed for your viewing pleasure.” Click the image to see the whole ad; then spend a little time visiting there, and prepare to be entertained (or creeped out) yourself.

Is I were that baby I would be asking the question, why doesn’t my mommy have any hands? Creepy!

    Ew.

kelly: Or alternatively, when he sees his REAL mommy, asking why she DOES have hands. :)

Jules: Right… so then my work here is finished!

I think the kid’s look is creepier! He looks like he knows something! And it isn’t good. If I were a writer of weird stories, I’d say the kid was … possessed by AT&T!!! (scary music plays in the background).

cynth: Scary music, that’s about right. Though with the number of people we know who’ve been possessed by AT&T, you’d think we’d have been inured to it by now!
