Because there was no &#8220;Submit&#8221; button. (Current partial screen capture shown at top right.)<\/p>\n<p>(As an aside, this is broken for me, too. And it appears to be broken for all three major browsers, as well.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; padding-right: 30px;\"><strong>Edit to add:<\/strong> For the time being, I&#8217;ve disabled the &#8220;reCaptcha&#8221; mechanism, on the off-chance that the problem was with it rather than with WordPress&#8217;s generic verification process. So you won&#8217;t see the &#8220;I am not a robot&#8221; device for a while.<\/p>\n<p>This will remain broken for &#8212; I hope &#8212; <em>only<\/em> a little while.
