The Missus and I just returned from an eight-day escape to the North Carolina mountains (accent on “escape”). Consequently, this week’s whiskey river Fridays<\/em> post will most likely appear tomorrow, Saturday, to give myself time to regroup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime, here’s some music for you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Molly Tuttle is a young singer-songwriter in the Americana tradition, with a strong emphasis on country\/bluegrass — and, adds Wikipedia, is “noted for her flatpicking, clawhammer, <\/a><\/sup>and\u00a0crosspicking\u00a0guitar prowess.” She sings sweetly, to be sure, as you can tell even by just sampling her newest produced-during-coronavirus album of covers, …but i’d rather be with you<\/a><\/em>. (Which — if it hadn’t come from her cover of The Grateful Dead’s “Standing on the Moon,” might itself serve as a suitable made-during-coronavirus song title.) But in this number you’ll experience some of that guitar virtuosity, too. (Tuttle is one of Guitar World<\/em>‘s three judges<\/a> for this year’s Acoustic Guitarist of the Year award.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
