I knew only her music. (I&#8217;d never heard of the &#8220;trance dance&#8221; genre, either. After reading <a title=\"Wikipedia, on trance (dance) music\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Trance_music\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia&#8217;s entry<\/a> on it, I think I know even less about it than I did from pure guesswork.) It doesn&#8217;t strike me, exactly, as hypnotic &#8212; trance-inducing &#8212; but it&#8217;s not exactly melodic or &#8220;tuneful,&#8221; either. You won&#8217;t find yourself whistling the melody long after hearing it, even many times over.\u00a0But you could fairly describe it as <em>absorbing<\/em>: quietly\u00a0<em>infectious<\/em>, especially in the background when you&#8217;re working to (say) unravel a knotted plot. Not that I&#8217;ve ever used it for <em>that<\/em>\u00a0purpose.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; font-size: 90%; line-height: 1.25em;\"><em>[Below, click Play button to begin <\/em>The Calling<em>.
