Some things are just too entertaining and… unclassifiable not to pass around. Hence: “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.”
[Hat tip to Eileen of Speak Coffee to Me, temporarily coming out of… well, you know.]
Ridiculous pursuits, matters solemn and less so
cynth says
That was certainly a classic.
Nance says
Jenny Slate’s mind doesn’t work like anyone else’s, which makes her absolutely fascinating!
John says
cynth: I’ve almost given up trying to describe it to anyone in advance. Every time I watch it I catch something new to crack me up!
Nance: How embarrassing is it that I had NO idea who Jenny Slate was until you mentioned her name and sent me chasing around the Web for info about her? (I know, I know — the name is RIGHT THERE in the credits. Still…)
USA Today‘s “PopCandy” columnist actually interviewed Slate about the video a few days ago. Aside from the pleasure I get from watching this, I keep wondering where, exactly, this pleasure would be located on Maslow’s pyramid.

I’m sorry, but how much do I love the name of her blog?
!
John says
Jules: I’m guessing you mean Eileen’s Speak Coffee to Me blog. Just a crazy guess, based entirely on, oh, about a jillion blog posts of your own. :)
marta says
Speak Coffee to Me is a brilliant name. And that video is fantastic.
The Querulous Squirrel says
Genius!
John says
marta/Squirrel: Usually, if a video lingers in my mind long after watching it, there’s some persistent musical hook. This is one of the exceptions. (“His name is Alan”! “My cholesterol went up to 900”! “Hello… this is me”!)
