Videographer, filmmaker, camera operator, whatever you want to call him, Jared Foster makes some very sweet video-based “family Christmas cards.” Here’s his first, from a couple of years ago (over the voices of Bing Crosby The Drifters, I’m pretty sure, and “White Christmas”):
…and here’s last year’s (Squirrel Nut Zippers, “Winter Weather”):
You can see this year’s — an ambitious melange of still/animation and video, set to “Here Comes Santa Claus” (sung by Doris Day and company) — here.
P.S. I know this is probably a lazy-man’s blog post — look! embedded videos! — but I thought these were great.

The first song, is not Bing Crosby. Look to this link for the best rendition (as a cartoon) version of this song. http://www.stockspotter.com/In/WhiteChristmas.aspx
It was done by Clyde McPhatter and the Drifters in 1953. Thank you for reminding me. And keep your cards, it’s still nice to get them, some people are just show-offs!

cynth: Correction made. Thanks for the catch!
Actually, I did keep one card this year, as I just learned about 5 minutes ago — completely inadvertently. It was supposed to be in the box winging its way to El Madre. Aaargh!
