Like other Potter groupies, I think, I loved this. In most interviews I’ve seen or read, she’s been very reserved and formal. She (somewhat literally) lets her hair down here.
Ouch! Those videos are at the Comedy Central site, but you may be able to view them if you search YouTube on “daily show” and “rowling.” (I say “may” because YouTube probably follows Comedy Central’s rules in what can and can’t be posted.)
You may ALSO be able to view them if you’ve got a smart-enough smartphone. (I don’t know if Comedy Central is anal enough to blockade cellular traffic from north of the border. :))
After watching part II – methinks you need to send an outline of “Merry Go Round” (correct spelling/structure?) to either Ms. Rowling – or her publisher/editor whilst “CC-ing” it to her. We need a monarch (read: figure-head) AND a president? Hmmmm, where have I heard this before?
Ah, yes, Merry-Go-Round… I think of that book every now and then and imagine how I might recast it, so to speak. (Aside from the obvious stuff, like, y’know, making it better.) For today’s political realities, as opposed to 2007-08’s. Interestingly (or appallingly, take your pick), the state surveillance infrastructure picture hasn’t changed much; it has (if anything) gotten even worse.
I don’t know how much you read around the blogging world, but if you regularly visit Blogger-based blogs you’re probably getting really depressed about your eyesight. Blogger’s built-in (re)captchas, a few months ago, started using (instead of two nonsense words) a nonsense word paired with a PHOTO of a NUMBER. As I understand it, the photos come from Google Street View images of houses, mailboxes, etc., so they’re naturally sort of low-res, not viewed straight-on and/or close-up, and so on.
I loved these videos. Have you watched any of the other videos of her on YouTube? I watched her interview with Oprah and this one that sort of follows her for a year. Kind of. I liked both. Oh. And her commencement address to Harvard. I think it was Harvard. She does have a sense of humor!
And I’m not jealous of how awesome she is at all. Nope. Not one bit.

just another reminder, btw, that sometimes – great minds DO think alike!
and….is it just my failing middle-aged vision or are these damned “recaptachas” getting harder to read?

I hadn’t seen part II. I didn’t know that about the red and blue states. Also, I’m going to try to use the word “testacle-less” once today.

Please do share the context in which you use it, ha.
