As I explain on this page, I’m not particularly neurotic about someone’s using my photos (for non-commercial purposes, anyhow). If anything there isn’t clear to you, and you’d like to use a photo you see here or on my Instagram feed, just email me.
But that’s not to say I wouldn’t embrace anyone who wants to buy a professionally printed copy of one of my photos. To that end, I’ve signed on with a site called “SmugMug” which displays photos in an attractive way and makes their purchase pretty painless for both the buyer and the photographer.
At SmugMug, I’ve set up five “galleries” — collections of photos each with a common theme. Clicking on one of the thumbnails below will let you scroll through the photos in the corresponding gallery:
…but to really see the galleries to their full effect — and maybe (maybe?) even to purchase prints — use these links instead.
- #oneoffs: photographs which don’t really belong to one series or another (well, to one other series or another, I guess); any virtues they may have are, I think, just their virtues as photos
- #thesurfacesofthings: photos, mostly closeups, exploring the textures, the light and shadows of inanimate objects
- #everydaybandw: as the title suggests, I’ve been posting to Instagram one black-and-white photo every morning, since fall of 2017. (As of today the total number on Instagram is somewhere north of 600 photos, but I haven’t quite caught up at SmugMug yet.)
- #plantsthatlookgood: I’m not that heavily invested in looking at or photographing flowers for their classic ooooh-and-aaaaah colorful beauty. But I do like using them, and non-flowering plants, as the subjects of photos. (Actually, I lean more in the direction of the non-flowering ones.)
- #jesstorypix: these may be of most interest to RAMH visitors, because each photo — generally edited to add an element of the fantastic to the image — is accompanied by a short-short story. (To see the photo’s title and accompanying story, you’ve generally got to move your mouse or other pointer down to the bottom left of the image, where it will scroll up into view.)
In any case, thanks for your interest in my work!
