The Missus and I just returned from an eight-day escape to the North Carolina mountains (accent on “escape”). Consequently, this week’s whiskey river Fridays post will most likely appear tomorrow, Saturday, to give myself time to regroup.
In the meantime, here’s some music for you.
Molly Tuttle is a young singer-songwriter in the Americana tradition, with a strong emphasis on country/bluegrass — and, adds Wikipedia, is “noted for her flatpicking, clawhammer, and crosspicking guitar prowess.” She sings sweetly, to be sure, as you can tell even by just sampling her newest produced-during-coronavirus album of covers, …but i’d rather be with you. (Which — if it hadn’t come from her cover of The Grateful Dead’s “Standing on the Moon,” might itself serve as a suitable made-during-coronavirus song title.) But in this number you’ll experience some of that guitar virtuosity, too. (Tuttle is one of Guitar World‘s three judges for this year’s Acoustic Guitarist of the Year award.)

…and, if you’re so inclined, you might want to wander over for the original version by the original band, Rancid, here.
